o to tha prah

i don't understand the big deal about james frey and his oprah bookclub biznatch. a) to me if it's a good book the means justifies the end. b) the book memoirs of a geisha is mostly elaboration, is not by a geisha but is by a history professor, is not a real memoir but is being praised because it's a great book blah blah blah. i like the book, but it is clearly marketed as a memoir even if the back of the book says historical fiction. c) all writers elaborate, you think that hunter s thompson had precise accuracy in his re-telling? or james joyce his portrait was loosely based on actual events but not definitive. what about virginia woolfs a room of ones own she wasn't actually rejected from speaking at oxford. i haven't read james frey's book, but you can't just denounce it on the fact that you thought it was fact and it was elaboration.

True enough, I think Oprah was just trying to save face. Atleast Harry Potter is factual and objective. Hey I have an idea for your next blog posting. 8-10 pages on Trade Related Intellectual Property Rights and the transnational pharmaceutical industry. size 12 font, double spaced, 1inch margins. APA style referencing. Try to post by thursday :)- natalia
p.s. did you know bob dylans son was the lead singer of the wallflowers??
